The annual Chalk It Up! Music and Art Festival returns for another festive year, showcasing local street artists as they create colorful, multidimensional works of art along the walkways of the Summerlin Library. Other activities include music, caricaturists, face painting, shadow puppets, a bubble exhibition, an interactive labyrinth, arts and crafts, food trucks, and the fan-favorite chalk art awards ceremony.

The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of cardboard and duct tape. The Regatta is open to individuals and groups desiring to build a boat. $5 per boat. All ‘crew members’ attend for free. Those attending open swim, but not participating in the boat race will require Daily Admission. Check-in will begin at 3:30pm and boat races will begin at 4:30pm. World-famous Rubber Duck race raffle will be held at 5:15pm. $1 admission fee to enter in the raffle. Cowabunga Bay in Henderson is hosting a special “After Hours” event for adults 21 and older on Friday from 8 p.m. to midnight. Guests can enjoy all of the park’s features, including water slides, and an assortment of specialty drinks for sale, the company said in a news release. Tickets are $34.99 a person, and can be purchased online at cowabungavegas.com or at the ticket window. Guests must have a government-issued ID to enter. The event is free for 2024 season pass holders over 21. Cowabunga Bay and Summerlin’s Cowabunga Canyon are also hosting its annual Great Grades Days this week which gives students with three or more ‘A’ grades free entry to the park.
