Celebrate the 4th of July in Southern Nevada: Best Family-Friendly Fireworks & Festivities for 2025

If there’s one thing our family loves about living in Southern Nevada, it’s how this city goes all out for the 4th of July! As a mom of four, I’ve spent many Independence Days chasing parades, spreading picnic blankets, and hunting for the perfect spot to watch the fireworks light up our desert sky.

Henderson Fourth of July Celebration at Heritage Park

One of our favorite traditions is heading to Heritage Park in Henderson. This celebration has something for every age: foam play zones (my youngest lives for this), water blaster tag, inflatable ax throwing (a family favorite!), and face painting galore.

Gates open at 6 pm, live music kicks off the fun, and fireworks burst overhead at 9 pm sharp. Bring chairs, extra towels (trust me — kids + foam = soaked), and a bit of cash for local food trucks.

Blast Off in the Basin – Buckskin Basin Park

If you live on the northwest side, you can’t miss Blast Off in the Basin. It’s a laid-back community fireworks show with a fun vibe, local marching bands, and a lineup of food trucks.

It’s free to attend, and we love spreading a picnic blanket under the stars while the kids play and dance to the live music. Fireworks launch around 9 pm, but get there early for the best lawn spots.

Lake Las Vegas Fireworks & Family Fun

For a gorgeous setting, we sometimes splurge on a little lakeside fun at Lake Las Vegas. Their 4th of July bash is packed with live music, bounce houses, face painting, and an amazing fireworks show over the water.

Pro tip: Many families make a whole day of it — swimming, renting kayaks, or having dinner by the lake before settling in for the show at 9 pm.

Patriotic Parades & Strip Fireworks

If you’re up for more adventure, you can also catch the Summerlin Patriotic Parade — a big, classic hometown parade that starts at 9 am on July 4. My girls love seeing the floats and dancers march through the neighborhood.

And of course, the Las Vegas Strip knows how to celebrate. Caesars Palace puts on a spectacular fireworks show you can see up and down the Strip. Families who want to avoid the crowds often watch from nearby rooftops or the High Roller observation wheel at The LINQ Promenade, which has its own fun lineup of kids’ activities, balloon artists, and live music during the day.

Valley-Wide Fireworks Shows

If you’d rather stay close to home, you’re in luck — several neighborhoods and local casinos shoot off fireworks around 9 pm. Some favorites include Station Casinos properties, community parks in Providence and North Las Vegas, and select resort rooftops along the Strip.

Mom Tips for the Best 4th of July with Kids

After many years of sticky popsicles, sunscreen battles, and parking lot escapes, here are my go-to tips for a stress-free family 4th of July in Las Vegas and Henderson:

Arrive early. Most events get busy by 7 pm — earlier if you want good parking and a shady picnic spot.
Pack smart. Bring water bottles, snacks, sunscreen, towels, and glow sticks (kids love them while waiting for fireworks).
Plan for traffic. Expect crowds when leaving — we usually hang out a bit after the finale to avoid the rush.
Keep it fun. Let kids run, dance, and get messy. It’s their holiday too!
